The Defence Cyber Certification (DCC) is an organisation-wide cyber security certification for suppliers to the defence industry, demonstrating cyber resilience and best security practices. DCC is available in four levels, Levels 0-3.

About DCC
DCC was created by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and IASME to improve the security of the defence supply chain. Certification simplifies procurement for suppliers, allowing them to present a DCC certificate across multiple MoD contracts.
DCC offers a higher standard of assurance for customers, with four levels available in total. Whereas Cyber Essentials covers your internet-connected devices, DCC covers all online and offline devices which are business critical.
A valid DCC certificate can be used across multiple MOD defence bids, as an alternative to filling out lengthy Supplier Assurance Questionnaires.
As an authorised Certification Body for both DCC and Cyber Essentials, all of our certifications are delivered by our own UK-based assessors.
This also means that if your Cyber Essentials scope isn’t sufficient for DCC, we can quickly and easily recertify you if needed.
Our certified DCC assessors will guide you through the certification from start to finish. We can help you interpret the requirements, assist with evidence preparation and explain where work is still needed.
Please note, the MOD requires that DCC certification and implementation are performed by separate companies. We can provide either certification services, or implementation assistance, according to your requirements.
DCC is available in four levels, aligning with the Ministry of Defence’s DefStan 05-138. Each level has progressively more controls which must be met:
- Level 0 – 3 controls
- Level 1 – 101 controls
- Level 2 – 139 controls
- Level 3 – 144 controls
